Doch trotz aller Sorgen denkt sie voll großer Dankbarkeit an den Tag der ersten freien Wahlen in Südafrika zurück.

Diese erste freie Wahl war für Leute wie mich ein unglaublich großartiger Tag. Wir erlebten eine Zeitenwende, von der wir dachten, sie würde niemals kommen. Gemeinsam in einer Schlange zu stehen, Schwarz und Weiß zusammen, um zum ersten Mal gemeinsam eine freie Regierung zu wählen - das war ein unschlagbar wundervolles Erlebnis.
