The places where play my books, I know well. Often I have here pictures of places in mind where I lived. Since it is one of the last time that I've moved so many times in my life.
Sometimes I call the places by their names, sometimes I kontruiere an invented name that sounds very real.
The decision whether I have a real Name or an invented name search results from the situation. If done bad things in this place, (Sarah in the book "In the chat he was so sweet," is held there), I construct a place name. But if there occurs the everyday life of the protagonists, the name of a town called that exist in real life. By writing my own memories of my life in this place again very much alive.
"The thieves Nest" for example, plays in Neuenbeken, a small village near Paderborn, where I lived for a time . And of course the children live the history at that very house where I also lived. I know their way zur Bushaltestelle, den Weg durch das Dorf und den Weg zu ihrem Geheimversteck an den Bahnschienen.
Oft, wenn ich durch den Ort kommen, denke ich an meine Protagonisten. Und dann bilde ich mir ein, sie dort hinter der Häuserfassade in ihren Zimmern sitzen zu sehen.
